Question Your reflection

How would you define academic readiness? Academic Readiness is something that every student attending UOP has. It's the ability to handle the work without falling behind or slacking. It helps the student reach their maximum potential and increases their chance for success. It is something that they started in high school and further down. For me I am academically ready. I am prepared as far as my mindset and my motivation. I came into the couse with a successful mindset and the willingness to learn and even fail.

What concerns, if any, do you have with academic writing and reading? For me my only concern is my academic writing. I am not the best writer in the world. This is mainly because I have a lot to say and I dont know how to end. A one page reflection for me can turn into a 20 page story (lol). I just cannot end my words, especially when I am really into my writing. I plan on using the Center for Writing Excellence when the time comes for me to write. They can help me when it comes down to managing my words and having the best work possible. When it comes to academic readiness I have no concerns. I feel as if I am ready for the college experience and all it has to offer.

What two university resources will you use to strengthen your writing and reading skills (refer to your Student Resources Worksheet)? The two resources I plan on using the most are: Center for Writing Excellence and the technical support number. I already explained why I will be using the Center for Writing Excellence as far as writing when the time comes for me to have to write. I plan on using the tech support whenever I run into a problem with the site or my boks or anything of that nature. I may not need them as often as I think but they are going to be the two I am going to use the most as far as school.

What is your personal learning style (refer to the Ch. 1 Aplia homework)? Based on the book I am a watchful or visual learning. I learn best when I am observing someone. I always described myself as a visual learner. During high school whenever we took notes I always needed to have at least one or two examples shown to me in order for me to understand and learn. After I got the hand of it and I understood the problem I wound excel. I feel as if being a visual learner is an advantage because I will get a better understanding than say a kinesthetic learner who learns best by doing.
