Research is a study in which the instructors collect information, data and materials using professional methods to represent a specific issue. The issue chosen can be an existing concern which has been conducted incompletely by other previous researchers now continuing to be expanded and perfected with better methods and technology or a brand new problem being studied to develop new theories for science, humanity and society. A successful research project has to follow a feasible and ethical progress including making preparations by using research methods and developing further ideas based on the original question, conducting the research with the data collected, analysing and interpreting it and finally reporting the final result of the project in order to provide a comprehensive explanation and deeper understanding about the discussed problem. Throughout the progress, the researchers have to respect the true aspect of the issue and keep the balance of authenticity by implementing systematically, sceptically and ethically the project. Moreover, to be succeeded in carrying out a project, choosing a suitable research design is also an indispensable part that will go along with all the project developments. Basically, there are two main types of research design which are “fixed” or “quantitative” design and “flexible” or often being referred as “qualitative” design. According to an analysis of research design written by Oksana (2012, p.297-313), quantitative research is conducted regularly in education institutions with the subjects focused on relatively educational and specific professional situations such as the research of job choice theory (Pounder & Merrill, 2011), principles’ knowledge of the school law (Militello, Schimmel & Eberwein, 2009). Also from this analysis, the data collected to use in the research is usually gathered from surveys and experiments which are mostly under numerical form.
