Ice hockey is a team sport that plays on ice, which skaters use their sticks to shoot a puck into the opponent’s goal. It is a fast-paced physical sport and it is popular in areas that are cold, and have seasonal ice cover. Ice hockey was invented in the mid 1850s by a British soldier in Nova Scotia, Canada. They used a rubber ball to play the 1st hockey game with some basic rules. Nowadays, hockey is all over the world, Canadians are losing their passion. Hockey is no longer Canadian. The national hockey league is a non profit association which operates a major profession ice hockey league of 30 franchised member clubs. Out of the 30 teams, 7 teams are located in Canada, and 23 teams are located in the United States.
