WORKING WITH AND LEADING PEOPLE

                                        Introduction

This is a management study which helps us to understand how to work with people and leading them in the organization. As it is known that; management is the art of getting things/work done through people effectively and efficiently.

These tasks were assigned for us to make management reports on how we understood the subject of working with and leading people in the organization after the study of a certain organization. The main aim of this subject is to develop knowledge and skills needed for working with and leading others in a workplace.

Tasks 1

1.  You are the Human resources Manager of ABC INC and your current personnel assistant is leaving to live abroad. He has been with the company for nearly 4 years, during which time he has risen from trainee personnel assistant to his current post. You are required to examine the recruitment process for a new personnel assistant for your organization which is involved in the manufacture of a product within the communications industry. This could be either a computer component, telecommunications component or even a piece (or pieces) of software and

1.1. Prepare documentation to select and recruit a new member of staff

1.2. Assess the impact of legal, regulatory and ethical considerations to the recruitment and selection process

1.3. Take part in the selection process

1.4. Evaluate own contribution to the selection process.

You need to make a report on this task.

For the attempt of this task the organization which I have studied is Bank of Baroda which will help to answer the questions and make a required report.

Bank of Baroda is an Indian state-owned banking and financial services company headquartered in Vadodara which started in 1908. It offers different banking products and financial services to corporate and retail customers through its branches and specialized workers and affiliates in the areas of retail banking, investment banking, credit cards and asset management

Task 1

  1. Prepare documentation to select and recruit a new member of staff

Putting the right person in the place in the right time is the Human Resource Development Department’s job. So, a good recruitment, selection and retention program plays an important role in an organization.

Human Resource Management is the process of how the organization manages its workforce/people in a good manner.

Human resource has several functions such as:

  • Recruitment and selection
  • Orientation and training
  • Performance appraisal
  • Employee motivation
  • Development process
  • Employee termination

Recruitment is the process of attracting, screening and selecting a qualified person for a particular job. This can be either internal through promotion, job posting and transfers or external through advertising, employee referrals and from educational institutions.
