Using strengths to increase motivation

After completing the self-assessment and getting the scores for positive psychological capital (Psycap) I would like to agree with the results I got after answering the questions. It is very obvious that I am a person that enjoys working efficiently, never lose hope and I am very optimistic that when I am going to stressful moments whether is personal or professionally I always stay focus and I bounce back from any difficulties that I may be experiencing. I am constantly pushing myself to the limit and my accuracy has helped to stay motivated and continue to work the way I do, accurate fast and efficient. The results were closer to the highest number and that reflects exactly how my personality and my strengths are.

First you have to know your strengths to be able to develop and advance in your career. Once you know them, you can use positive tactics to be more productive at work, your home and even your environment. Stay positive at all times will help you to become more effective, and always make time to recover if you fall behind in your assignments. Understanding yourself and getting the most of you will also help. Practicing all you strengths on a daily basis by testing them, get advice from your supervisors or managers and ask them how they think you are doing will be another way to help you to develop strategies.

Challenging your self is always a good idea and putting together ideas the can help you to meet your goals, whether is on a daily basis or a weekly basis. For example, for someone that works by himself and has been told to make sure to finish everything in a single day without living nothing behind that is a goal and a challenge at the same time. Shipping is my specialty and inventory control, in my case I have ask my manager what I needed to do so I could perform my job better. Overall he has told me that I was doing a great job, but I needed to own my area, since at time I did not look very motivated doing what I was doing. After that conversation I was able to see more clear what he was talking about, that shipping department is my area, and that I had to control it, own it in every step of the way without expecting any help from others. What keeps me motivated and what is always helping me to meet my goals is that recognition that I get every now and then, my good attitude and my positivism is what helps me to use goal-setting, the fact that my boss believes in what I do keep me going.
