2 Innovation

 Samsung has been being governed by innovation in order to nourish company evolution with approximate twelve thousand patents, as shown in figure one Samsung is the uppermost among the other companies (Chetan Sharma Consulting, 2011). Patents’ numbers have contributed in advancing finance position for Samsung’s research and development; this is clearly derived from the Samsung annual reports from 2009 up to 2013. Moreover, in the research conducted by Amanpreet Monga, in comparison with marketing and operating expenses, the CAGR for R&D is 1.5% higher than reset division at 13.05% which prove the emphasizing on innovation by management (Monga, 2013a)

2.1 sources of innovation

In this section I will state the innovation’s sources at Samsung, Samsung depends on multiple sources for innovation to extend its brand and reputation globally.  The key innovation sources occurred publicly, in the demographic changes and incongruities (Drucker, 1998), the government investment and its attentiveness of technology and innovation, for instance, Mobiles’ accessories, Utilizing services, and all king of mobile technologies such as wireless and 4g, besides devices and apps to build up and develop advantages to the parties associated with all kinds of e-government including businesses, units of government, and citizens (Gsa.gov, 2015).

Another source that comprehend changes in perception, new knowledge, and demographic changes (Drucker, 1998),  that have direct impact on Samsung innovation strategy is the technology’s users in particular, referring to figure number two, smartphone users’ demands are increasing year by year, the user numbers forecasted to be 5.3 Billion in 2017 (Statista, 2015a). The research and development division plod all along, the static from figure three indicates that, Samsung ranked the second in spending on R&D, in 2014, they paid out 13.4$ Billion on R&D (Statista, 2015b). The model proposals new thoughts and designs as a result of online surveys (Samsung.com, 2015a).constantly the lead users and focus groups to bring out new needs and demands, ideas, and technologies that involve Samsung industries to frost corporate innovation” (B..rait, 2004, PP.). Spread out innovation based-sourced on mobile technology; recently Samsung discloses Galaxy S6, to be rated as one of the innovative devices at the end of 2015, looking forward to finding out its inventive qualities by myself. Samsung strategic promotions to sustenance sales of its devices, together with its fresh statements, that those buying hand-picked Samsung devices within the first half of this month “January 2015” will have a year of Netflix. Fascinating technologies for Samsung monitor and displays are predictable to draw consumers’ attentions; for particular, I have been attracted to Samsung’s curved displays (Brachmann, 2015).
