Sampling and Data Collection Plan

Introduction

The chosen research for Company was the random sampling method. The independent variable that is located on the y-axis determines the brand’s perception. This research can have a positive reflection on the Company. The dependent variable located on the x-axis determines the purchase of a new phone. The research question, how does the durability of the product effect customer’s decision to buy the product?

Population

This research targeted population will consist of all females, males, ethnic groups, and ages. This research will be geared towards the customers that have or will purchase the Company products. This survey is designed to understand the customer’s brand perception and new smartphone pricing. Additionally, based on the weekly sales with or without advertisings and displays have been recorded for inferential analysis.

Validity & Reliability

A simple random sampling method is used to decide the sample points. "Simple Random sampling means that every member of the population has an equal chance of partaking in the study. When selecting on a random basis, there is less chance of sampling bias" (Robinson, 2015). The customers selected from the database are regular customers of Company. The study results give critical information for other businesses that are similar to Company. Understanding what consumers’ perception is of Company brand and their thoughts of the prices for new smartphones will assist with profits and satisfy the customers. The calculation is based on:

n= sample size

z= confidence level 95%

σ= sample deviation .50

E= margin of error 5%

n = z2 σ2 n =

E2

The chosen sample size of 50 will represent the population, and it will reflect the same characteristics of the population from which it is taken. The method used was Simple Random Sampling that is probability sampling. The sample size is calculated using a 95% (1.96) confidence level, and a 5% margin of error. The result: to get a 5% margin of error, we will need to survey smartphone owners, using simple random sampling. Data will be collected online, from e-mails, surveys in stores, from scans and stored in the team’s personal databases.

Data Collection

The data collection will use a simple random sampling method. Customers will be randomly selected based on the number of customers that enters Company stores. A simple survey will be given to the selected customers that participate in the survey. The information will ask for gender, age groups and the rest of the survey will
