SOCIO-CULTURAL FACTORS:-

The social and cultural factors include majority the values and beliefs of people, and the various subcultures existing in the population. People are concerned about their self -image as well as their public image.

1. LIFESTYLES CHANGES:-

  • As different diseases arises with time, the health problems related to obesity, cancer, malaria are increasing day by day, due to which the health consciousness among the people is increasing day by day, as people are becoming aware of the factors related to the health, As a result it provides pharmaceutical industry an opportunity to grow. A number of health program are implemented, which include Malaria, TB, AIDs and Food and Nutrition program.
  • Increasing pollution has added the healthcare problem. Smoking, drinking and poor oral hygiene is still adding to the healthcare problem. Large joint families transmit communicable diseases among the members, for their treatment the life style of people changes, as they are becoming more educated.
  • Poor Sanitation and polluted water sources ended the life, and created awareness in people to use medicines for diseases. Consumers in emerging economies look for affordability, utility and durability to stand up to harsh conditions

2. GROWTH RATE:-

  • Population has shown an increase in 2013, which depicts that the growth rate of business of pharmaceutical industry has increased, obviously that leads to increase in sales.
  • There is still growth ahead for Pharma in mature and fast-growing markets, value innovation, and health nutrition, generics, diagnostics, animal health, vaccines, orphan drugs and new drugs.
  • In the whole country, there are 1,096 hospitals, 5,310 dispensaries, 5,527 basic health units and 687 maternity and child health center’s in Pakistan in 2013 as compared to 1,092 hospital, 5,176 dispensaries, 5,478 basic health units and 628 maternity and child health center’s in the same period of 2014.
