This report is to provide an analysis of my participation and the performance of my team in Business Capstone 301. This course involves team interaction to complete the capstone simulation and teaches me many elements in forming and maintaining a team. Through these experiences it allows me to be more aware of the negative and positive aspect of teamwork as well as self-analysis and self-understanding.

I think my team is a united, dynamic and friendly team, striving for the same goal. During the two practice rounds, I followed the instructions, read the Capstone Guild twice, did the preparation tasks on time and answered most of the quiz questions.

One of the existing problems is that it seems that A and B still did not catch the rules of the game and contributed less during the decision-making process. Another problem is that because C has known each other long before, we cannot help speaking in Chinese when trying to explain our opinions, which in some degree, ignore the other two members, and sometimes I have to repeat what we were arguing about, reducing the effectiveness of the whole team and the understandings of each other.

I am a well-organized person with lots of energy and action. I tend to challenge others to move forwards and sometimes, stubborn in insisting my opinions. In turns, I am sometimes insensitive to others’ feelings. But the first Peer Evaluation seems to show that I did not contribute enough in decision-makings or present my leadership. I think the reason may lies in the communication with the other two team members. Just as mentioned above, I need to overcome the desire to speak in Chinese. Moreover, we need to think out of way to assign the responsibilities appropriately to ensure that every member participates and contributes and improve the effectiveness of decision-making and communication.
