There are several different names for the science of decision making which among them Management science, operation research and decision science are three mostly used names and amid these three, Management science is the most well-known name. It is defined as a method to make decision, applying ideas and models by using scientific means like; statistics and mathematical analysis. Management science and its elements have been changed from time to time and the biggest revolution in management science occurred in the Second World War which led to the improvement of management science. Anderson (2010) claimed that discovering a simple way of solving linear programming problems to have maximum profit and minimum cost by Dantzig in 1947 caused the revolution in management science after the Second World War.

According to Funami (2010) the elements of management have been changed recently due to the internet revolution, but there are still some classic elements which have not changed for a very long time like; human resources, financial resources and products. After the internet revolution, information technology and branding which are the modern elements of management science have been added to these classical elements to make the basic management elements all together. After defining the management elements, we can go over the management styles. If a company or an organization desires to be successful, their manger should pick a suitable management style to fit that company or organization. A manager treats with employees, brings them into the decision making procedure and makes a situation that both employees and the company or organization will benefit all together. The pattern or configuration which a manager chooses to achieve the company’s goals is called management style (Rampur, 2010). Every management style has its own method to get things done and its own advantages and disadvantages. This report will concentrate on different and major management styles in the business life to study their methods of managing and decision making which leads to answer the following question: What are the major management styles in business life?

Much research has been done by researchers to analyze different management styles and figure out their perspectives. The results demonstrate that management styles are divided to two major groups called bureaucratic management style and participative management style. These studies are mainly focused on organization structure, strategies and decision making process of these two management styles.

To begin, bureaucratic management style will be studied in this part of the paper. The meaning of bureaucracy in an organization is the separation of labor applied to administration. Bureaucracy originally is taken from a French word 'Bureau', which means desk or an office, so 'Bureaucracy' is the rule through a desk or office (Kimble, 2010).
