A staffing evaluation is the assessment and review of a company’s staffing system to determine the effectiveness of that system. For Chern’s to be able to track the staffing processes effectiveness a digital dashboard with five indicators has been created. This will allow Chern’s has been able to reach its staffing goals. The goals Chern’s has set are:

1) Attracting a more diverse set of qualified applicants

2) Compliance with EEO and affirmative action guidelines

3) Hiring sales associates who:

a. Are better able to execute it’s business strategy

b. Sell more merchandise

c. Develop higher-quality relationships with the firm’s customers

d. Stay with the company longer

e. Are more promotable to department manager positions

f. Reinforce the company’s customer service-oriented culture and make every employee and customer feel valued and cared for

4) Realizing a meaningful and positive ROI

Some of the measurements that Chern’s can use to evaluate the stated goals are:

Diversity of recruiting sources- When a company attracts more diverse applicants Chern’s will have a hiring pool much larger than it had before. This will also increase the diversity of the workforce. Chern’s will need to use sourcing methods that will help it meet this goal. This will also help Chern’s meet the EEO action guidelines.

Turnover rates of top performers- Customer service is a cornerstone of Chern’s. Therefore, it is important to keep top performing employees. The longer we keep these employees the stronger the relationship between the employee and customer is. This is good news for Chern’s because it will result in loyalty and boost sales, however is why it is important to track the turnover rate of top performers.

Customer satisfaction- Is again the cornerstone of Chern’s and is vitally important. This also propels the success and profitability of Chern’s there for needs to be measured.

Employee promotion rates- For Chern’s to retain the best employees one thing they can do is promote when needed from within. This is also an area Chern’s takes pride in. Not all people are going to be department managers. Educating and promoting as needed will help keep the employees who are qualified and want to be department managers.

Revenue generation- For any business including Chern’s to be successful growth is important. Therefore, it is important to measure sales associates generated income. For this reason, revenue generated per employee should be measured in performance. This
