On Assignment is a publically traded company in Raleigh that specializes in providing staffing for medical facilities and Laboratories in the area. We focus our efforts on providing Phlebotomist, Medical Laboratory Technicians, and Medical Technologist. We have been providing this service for 25 years (On Assignment 2013).

The Primary Stakeholders for On Assignment are our Employees, Stockholders, Creditors, Suppliers, and Clients. Our Employees play a substantial role in our company because they are basically what we are selling. Because we provide a service, we need the employees to fill the positions the clients need filled. Our employees also recruit more employees and clients, which increase our revenue. Our stockholders are important because it is their influence and contributions that have given us the capital to begin and sustain the company. With out the investment of our stockholders, our expansion and day-to-day operations in these difficult economic times would be more limited. Our creditors are stakeholders because they have lent us money to assist in the operation of this company. If we are unable to pay due to poor performance then they lose money and this has a negative effect on their revenue. Our suppliers are extremely important because they provide the tools and supplies we need to run our operations. We use a large amount of office supplies. So if our suppliers were to increase their prices on our supplies, this would affect our profit. Our Clients are the source of our revenue thus definitely making them a stakeholder.

The Secondary Stakeholders for On Assignment are the general public, communities, the government, non- governmental organizations, and the media. The general public does have an effect on On Assignment because we are associated with the healthcare field. So during certain seasons where the general public is especially prone to sickness, our services are more in demand, which increases our potential income. Our community is a stakeholder because we provide a service to the medical facilities in our community. So, in essence without them there would be no need for us. The government regulates our practices with laws and regulations. Federal agencies such as the OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) inspect us routinely to insure that our practices are within regulation. Non- governmental organizations are stakeholders because organizations such as JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation on Healthcare Organizations) also monitor our practices and grade us on our performance. A bad report from this organization can affect our clients and stockholders perception of the company. The media is a stakeholder because the media can also affect the general publics perception of our company. Any negative press will have a negative affect on how we are viewed by our other stakeholders.
