As requested, we investigated the topic of conflict resolution in the workplace by finding 10 articles that had good information and then from these we chose the best five. Summaries of the five articles are provided. The analysis is based on two of the articles we think have the best practices to be used in multiple situations.

How do we manage to hold on to our precious employees when the demands of having small children or aging parents are increasing? Since our company does not supply onsite day care due to the high expenses, this can present very costly and sometimes gut wrenching decisions by employees to leave their children, and often the elders in the hands of strangers, or leave their job.

Job sharing is a great idea because the costs incurred when training employees are very high. It’s in the company’s best interest to retain staff as much as possible. It’s also in the company’s best interest to get as much productivity from each employee as possible. The viability of any given company depends on meeting the demands of it’s the consumer, so without effective employees, neither the company nor its employees will last in a competitive market.

Due to the time and economic constraints placed on the women, and some of the men faced with family problems, the following flexible work strategies have been recommended.

The most common Flexible work options are flexible work hours (flex time), flexible work locations (flex place), compressed worked work schedules, and alternative work assignments such as job sharing and part time work.
