Explain in details any three (3) BIG FIVE Personality. How the chosen personality will influence/ predict behaviour at work?

  • Extroversion is a comfort level with relationships. Extroverts tend to be gregarious, assertive, and sociable. Introverts tend to be reserved, timid and quiet. Extroverts are people who take charge of situations. Typically, a high extroversion score indicates that that person having a strong leadership ability. They are more likely to behave impulsively than introverts.

  • Agreeableness is individual’s propensity to defer to others. High agreeableness people are cooperative, warm, affectionate and trusting. It shows how well someone can get along people. People who also scoring high in this trait are well-like, sympathetic behaviour at work as well. On the other hand, low agreeableness people are cold, disagreeable, and antagonistic.

  • Emotional stability describes a person’s ability to withstand stress. People with positive emotional stability tend to be calm, self-confident, and secure while they behave at work it helps to carry things in different positive ways. Those with high negative scores tend to be nervous, anxious, depressed, and insecure.
  • Conscientiousness is a measure of reliability and dependability. A high conscientious person is responsible, organized, dependable, and persistent. Someone who scores higher in this trait is more goal-oriented, tend to control impulses and is usually very organized during at work. They are likely to score success in work and excel as a leader. Those who score low on this dimension are easily distracted, disorganized, and unreliable.
  • Openness to experience suggests the range of interests and fascination with novelty. It encompasses someone’s desire to try new things, be open and think creatively. Extremely open people are generally creative, curious, and artistically sensitive. Those at the other end of the openness category are conventional and final comfort in the familiar.
