I think the most important point in this chapter is listening. A voluntary process that goes beyond simply reacting to sounds and includes understanding, analyzing, evaluating and responding.

Do you know that we spend an average of our waking day communicating? Of this communication time, 9% is spent writing, 16% reading, 30% talking and 45% listening. Immediately after hearing something, most of us can recall only 50% of what we hear. Within two to eight weeks, we can recall only 25% or less of the original message. Our mental attitudes reduce our ability to retain what we hear. Now, you know why I said listening is important. What I want say is my experiences that how to be a good listener, first, stop talking, you cannot listen while you talking. It easy to understand right? Then, ask question, try to be honest, if you don’t understand the conversation. You need ask. Do not pretend you got the point. It not a good thing. It’s also show people that you are listening. Third. Please don’t interrupt. Give people time to say what that want to say. Also, you have to pay attention to listening. Those are some my ideas about how to be a good listener. I always remember one thing that my chinses teacher told me. “You want learn something, you have to listen and understand it at first”

Btw, I am sorry that I missed class today, it was my bad. I took a nap then when I wake up it too late to go to class. Sorry
