Formulation and Identification

Introduction

There are different styles organizations use to come to effective resolutions. The following information was gathered by team A. Each member of team A gave a description of the decision-making style used in their organization.

This paper will cover the different learning styles used in the organizations. The information will include what styles are used and how they are used. The paper will compare and contrast the different styles in decision making. Included in the paper are the strengths and weaknesses found in the different styles by team A.

Companies

The companies represented by Team A could not have been more different; a bank, a somewhat regional cellular service provider, a non-profit care organization and a global for profit consumer goods company. Although the mission of each group is very different the extreme similarity is the collective decision making process and the goal of happy shareholders, stakeholders, consumers, or patients.

Compare and Contrast

The non- profit, Innovative Services is a non-profit company established for the mentally disabled in the community of Green Bay, WI. The company was founded to provide individuals in the community with mental illnesses to become a part of the community and meet each ones needs, this is not unlike Pepsico. Pepsico has a tremendous size and because of this the decision making is often very rational and systematic from a process stand point. Both Innovative services and Pepsico use very systematic approached to ensure the same experience is created from all employees to the consumers or patients. The systematic approach lends itself to process and ensures that the decisions made are from a very functional standpoint.

Alltell wireless and the bank also have very similar operations form an employee perspective. Sales consultants and bank tellers must operate with the utmost ethic and integrity, when consumers are signing contracts the employee should be upfront and honest the entire time. Both groups use a somewhat rational decision making process to maintain regulation with different governing bodies like the FCC and FAA, compliance is a must.

Strengths and Weaknesses

The decision making styles used in team A are systematic, collective participated, individualistic style, rational, and scientific method. Each style is used to solve problems;
