ObamaCare Healthcare Reform Act

I have read over several articles, researched websites, and asked opinions of others and I still am a bit confused over ObamaCare. There are such strong views from both sides of the isle and each present a case that is understandable leaving essentially, a nation divided. There are strong points from Democrats and Republicans over issues such as taxes, abortion and requiring all American to have insurance.

There are many issues lingering but taxes is always on the minds of the American people and ObamaCare puts it front and center yet again. There are several tax changes that will take effect starting next year to fund this program that is set to kick off in 2014. I understand that the money to fund these programs has to come from somewhere, but it seems like the more taxes we pay, the less we benefit from it.

Governor Mitt Romney was strongly opposed to ObamaCare because of the abortion benefits it offers. From what I understand, it essentially makes abortion a covered service that insurance companies have to offer in the plans they provide which will make the service readily available for whoever wants it. I am on the fence on this issue as I do not know if this benefit will cause women to be more cautious about their healthcare and empower them to make smarter decisions or if it will make abortion as easy as a sick visit to the doctor’s office.

The biggest issue that I have with the Healthcare Reform Act is forcing all Americans to have health insurance. I do understand what the main goal is but it seems that the government is taking the decisions away from the people of the United States. The fees that are required if someone does not purchase insurance are quite high as well and will burden many families.
