THE PROBLEM AND ITS SETTING

Introduction

         Cell phones are a necessity for people in the world. The common reasons of the increasing importance of cell phones are to keep in touch with family, business, and other social needs. Today’s technologically advanced phones are not just capable of receiving and placing phone calls it also can be used to take photos etc. these are just a few of the available options.

Back in the days, social interaction is a bit different than today. It is more complex and requires an individual’s time and energy because it is a face to face interaction literally, like doing outdoor activities with friends.

First cell phones were bulky, expensive and even have to transport a base unit to use it as a phone. As it becomes modern, the hassle of using it before, lessen it today. Satellites and wireless services are used to improve better service connection to establish. As cell phone improves, technically, more people admire using it, therefore phone users increased.

Cell phones are the best way to connect with others. Having this gadget it is more convenient for everyone in times of need. However, the importance of cell phone goes beyond personal safety. They are capable of sending files, accessing the internet, equipped with GPS allowing for people when it is lost. Social interaction is an exchange between two individuals on different ways like communicating, chit chatting, hanging out, etc.

According to reference.com, Social interaction is defined as the manner in which people talk to and interact with one another. It is dependent upon the social structure in which the communication occurs.

Technology specifically cellphones change social interaction among individuals. Although some prefers to have a time with their friends, most of the people are tend to use their mobile phones to socialize by means of “Facebook” and other social media sites present on the internet or simply by using the messaging app on their phones.

This study attempts to find how technology specifically mobile phones change most of the people socially.
