In this paper I will argue that abortion is wrong in certain cases. These cases may include consensual sex, not using contraceptives, having a disabled child, or a mother being mentally unstable. I will give a solid argument stating that abortion is morally wrong in incest cases. After stating my argument, I will then give examples for each premise defending this argument. This topic is a very debatable and many people might oppose the position I will discuss in my paper. In understanding that I will also state possible objections that one may give. The question is “When, if ever, is abortion morally acceptable?” My argument states that,

1. If a person is in a situation which she purposely engages in, then it is morally wrong to leave the situation.

2. In some incest cases, a mother is in a pregnancy she has purposely engaged in.

3. Therefore, in some incest cases, it is morally wrong for the mother to leave the pregnancy.

When giving a good argument, an individual must follow two rules. Rule number one is that all premises must be realistic. Premise one of my argument generally states that if an individual engages in a situation intentionally, then it is morally wrong for him/her to leave the situation. Example of premise one is when two friends, Damien and Daquan, plan to rob a liquor store. The two individuals proceeded to the liquor store and carried out their plan. After entering the store with masks on, they realized the owner had seen them on camera and called the police. The owner catches the friend off guard and pulls out a gun. Both individuals began to hear police sirens in a distance. Damien becomes frantic and runs out the store. Damien as well as Daquan both agreed to rob the liquor store, therefore it was morally wrong to leave Daquan.

Premise two is more detailed and states that in some incest cases, a mother is in a pregnancy she purposely engaged in. Therefore it is wrong to leave the pregnancy. An example of premise two is Heather and Jamie was siblings that engaged in sex. Both individuals knew the status of their kinship and continued having sexual activities. Being aware of the consequences of sexual activity, the two did not use contraceptives resulting in Heather becoming pregnant. When Heather found out she was pregnant, her and Jamie decided to have an abortion. Heather and Jamie both took part in sexual activity, knowing the consequences. Therefore it is morally wrong to get an abortion.

According to the second rule the argument must follow a pattern such that if all premises are true then the conclusion needs to follow. The pattern of an argument should follow:

1. If P, then Q

2. P

3. Therefore, Q

In my argument P stands for a
