G.M.O.

What is G.M.O.? G.M.O. stands for Genetically Modified Organism. Basically they take genes from other plants and animals and splice whatever gene was taken into another plant/animal. By doing that they are able to insert genes into our food to “improve” them. But, they are releasing the altered food without properly studying the effects of long term consumption. This has led me to the conclusion that in their current state, G.M.O. food’s possible negative impacts outweigh there benefits.

Just about sixty percent of the food we eat is genetically altered or contains genetically altered ingredients. With sixty percent of our food being genetically altered, trying to avoid eating it is next to impossible. Better yet, ALL OF IT is unlabeled. No matter how hard you try to stay away from it, you can’t. G.M.O. is like something out of a horror movie. The worst part is that the long term effects of it on humans are completely undocumented. What could this mean for us? Well sadly WE DON’T KNOW. In a few generations we could be growing extra limbs, or is this already happening? This has led me to the belief that until proper studies on the effects of these foods have been released, they should be deemed unsafe for consumption. For these reasons all G.M.O. foods should be labeled so you can know and make the choice on whether to eat them or not.

If there was a dangerous mass killer on the loose would you like to know to know about it? Haha too bad! The only thing you are going to be told about it is that its name is G.M.O. Are you a lawyer and want to cover a story on the possible dangers of consuming G.M.O. foods? Don’t worry; we’ve got our extensive team of corporate lawyers to blackmail you into submission.  The point is that the main producer of G.M.O. foods, Monsanto have spent hundreds of millions of dollars in an effort to tell the public that G.M.O. foods are healthy for consumption and have franticly removed any sort of criticism on their works and products.
