WAYS TO REDUCE STRESS AT WORK PLACE

Stress is a state of mental tension and worry caused by problems in your work. It creates a feeling of worry and anxiety. It is very important to use these techniques to reduce the level of stress and improve your health.

  1. Take Deep Breath: The advice “take a deep breath” may seem like a cliché, but it holds true when it comes to stress. Breathe in and out slowly and deeply, concentrating on your lungs as they expand fully in your chest. While shallow breathing causes stress, deep breathing oxygenates your blood, helps center your body, and clears your mind.

  1. Meditation: From yoga and tai chi to meditation and Pilates, these systems of mindfulness incorporate physical and mental exercises that prevent stress from becoming a problem in the first place.
  1. Exercise: Exercise doesn't necessarily mean power lifting at the gym or training for a marathon. A short walk around the office or simply standing up to stretch during a break at work can offer immediate relief in a stressful situation.
  1. Prioritize work and Time Management: Prioritizing work is one of the essential tools in stressed situations. Being organized and following a schedule and know what work is most important helps to reduce the level of stress in the body. Staying organized is effective way of improving your stress levels.
  1. Avoid interruptions: Emails, phone calls, pop ins, instant messages and sudden, urgent deadlines conspire to make today’s workers more distracted than ever. While you may not have control over the interrupters, you can control your response.
  1. Sleep Well:  Lack of sleep is a key cause of stress. This vicious cycle causes the brain and body to get out of whack and only gets worse with time so it is very important to sleep.
  1. Do not multitask: Avoid multitasking with projects work on one project or an assignment at a time. Do not complicate things by multitasking and doing different things at one time it just increases the stress levels.
  1. Consume Water: In stress situation it is very important to consume a lot of water it helps to increase the blood flow in the body, which calms you down.
  1. Eat Right: In stressed out situations people tend to forget eating meals it is very important to eat properly. Stress levels and diet are related to each other. Avoid vending machine instead eat fruits and vegetables. This will help to reduce the stress levels.
  1. Speak up: It is very important to speak up about your problems to someone; it can be any body colleague, family member, friends or loved ones. This will help you to feel better and calm you down. Incase of situations when you can not talk to any one than speak out to your own self people might feel crazy but it really works in stressed situations.
