1.What did the exercises/deliberations in the class/outside and reading materials evoke in you?  In other words what feelings, emotions and thoughts were aroused?

2.How did the exercises/deliberations in the class/outside and reading materials fit with your earlier experiences?

3.How did the Out--bound Exercise that you all went through at Tapovan during orientation help in understanding you as an individual as well as others in the group?

4.What are the implications of such an experience or experiences in shaping your future behavior as manager, team leader and the like?

Before joining Great Lakes, I was very concerned about how will I adjust to a totally new environment and a totally new place. I never lived away from home and just the thought of living away from family and friends gave me butterflies. The first day I came here, started interacting with my batch mates and slowly my worries started to fade away. We were taken to an outbound training that gave us a chance to interact with everyone and get rid of our nervousness. I made a lot of friends that assured me that no matter what happens I will have people to support me and be my strength.

Academic wise, I got exposed to a lot of concepts. In Organisational Behaviour we did various personality tests that told us what kind of personality lot we have. Myers Briggs Type Indicator, a test that categorises your personality on the basis of four factors.  Extraversion(E) v/s Introversion(I), Sensing(S) v/s Intuitive(N), Feeling(F) v/s Sensing(S) and Judging (J) v/s Perceiving (P). I got the personality type ESFJ. I share this personality type with JRD Tata who was not only a successful industrialist but also an able administrator, enthusiastic player, courageous pilot and a popular orator. This gives me the inspiration to work harder and become successful like him and leave my mark.

The other personality test done was the Big 5 personality - OCEAN (Openness to experience, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, Neuroticism. My personality test showed that I had a reactive personality (excitable, worrying, high strung and alert personality). In terms of extraversion, I am an ambivert sometimes reserved and hard to read, sometimes talkative, sociable and assertive. Openness to new experience was also moderate ( I am efficient and curious at the same time, like try out new things)  I am an adapter in terms of agreeableness. I am trusting, humble, a team player and frank. In terms of conscientiousness, I am a focussed person who is self disciplined, dependable and organised.

Marketing as a subject flooded us with case studies. Initially it was difficult, but slowly we learnt how to go about it and learnt a lot of new concepts. I studied marketing management as a subject in my graduation but how to actually apply concepts like marketing mix ( product, price, place and promotion) in practical was taught here. The subjects here stressed upon understanding the concepts and using them in practical life.

Besides academics, there was Janmashtmi celebration in the college, in which I took part in the Dahi Handi competition. We made a team and tried different formations but fell every time. The last formation worked for us somehow and we were able to make that same position in the final competition. We made that and took our own time to break that Dahi Handi. Then the PGPM girls team did the same and we planned and strategized on how to throw water on them and prevent them from completing it. This helped us to learn how to assess the competition and launch your attack.
