The reason I selected the article is that I have heard a little about it. The disaster happened in 2011 when I was in high school and was a very serious matter, I wanted to learn a little more about the incident to see if I could learn more about what efforts were used to help in the aid of the disaster recovery. I think learning more about the incident will better help me apply the knowledge from the course work because it hits home. The reason an incident like this could happen to us and having the knowledge to know how they will respond it help would better prepare me.

The main idea of the article is to inform people about the incident what all is being done and where and how much money is being spent to help the people in need. It also allows for future reference of how much it might cost for an incident of a similar magnitude.
