Abuse of Technology

A new organism that maybe created during the research process might not be necessarily abusing technology if it is being used to grow organs for humans. I believe that if the research was used in the opposite way for the development of weapon designs then it could be considered abuse of technology. Technology of creating organisms should be used only for medical purposes that may and can save a life. Although it sounds great to hear technology can save lives of many patients, if the steps are not taken carefully and kept within the law it is can be considered abuse of technology. If research is done secretly, numerous things can go wrong, or be out of the boundaries of the law. Patient rights must be protected, this is part of the hippa law. Even though, patients could be put into dangerous situations since they do not know the laws and their rights as patients. It is the responsibility of the government to put the laws together and make sure they follow the rights of the patients as well.

Victims of Research

Many of the products are tested on animals before they can go into any further research of humans or are passed to sales within the stores. With numerous products that are tested, animals have a different reaction than humans do. There are certain substances that may be harmful to a human but not the animal and vice versa. Drug manufacturers use animal testing as their legal defense when there are lawsuits brought against them, this usually holds up since all of the requirements have been met during the testing process. There are companies that offer compensation for participation in testing, but there are also many requirements within the testing such as constant blood work, daily medication logs they want kept.
