- INTRODUCTION
The scandal that happened in Linear Corporation Berhad has become a good case study for analysing the corporate governance of a company. The problems that happened are related to principles of corporate governance such as misuse of power, conflict of interest, transparency and miscellaneous. Furthermore, business ethics is also one of the crucial rules and approach that should imply in every organization. Corporate governance and ethical approach should permeate the people in organization despite they are from top management or normal workers. With the proper implementation of corporate governance, it will create a healthy culture in the business world and maintain the sustainability and transparency of the company.
2.0 BACKGROUND OF LINEAR CORPORATION BERHAD
Linear Corporation Berhad was established in 1981. As an investment holding company, it is vision and mission driven organization dedicated to meeting and exceeding the needs of its clients and partners. Linear Corporation Berhad became a listed company on year 1994.
This company has a philosophy that advocate mutually beneficial strategic partnership with the purpose of combining the power and operational effectiveness of its venture mates, Linear Corporation has succeeded in its effort and struggle.
The headquarters of Linear Corporation is located in Penang while its offices is set at both Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur. Meanwhile, a systematic distribution network has spans across the world. Linear is the primary heat, air ventilation, and cooling (HVAC) solution supplier in the ASEAN area. The company also provides engineering, after sale and maintenance, and water treatment services.
Flag-shipped by Linear Corporation Berhad, a public traded company on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia (The Malaysian Bourse). Linear provides market proficiency in the field of sales, production, distribution, and marketing of HVAC goods, multi-disciplinary engineering assistant and complement HVAC solutions. Linear acts as the primary source supplier for clients who request a high-quality range of HVAC goods and the engineering proficiency to enhance necessary infrastructure.
