Was Antigone right in burying her brother?

In the play Antigone by Sophocles, the main character Antigone was faced with a hard decision. She had to decide whether or not to bury her brother, Polynices. Antigone decided to bury her brother even though it was against the King, Creon’s, wishes. Antigone was right in deciding to give her brother an honorable burial. She was right because Creon did not have the right to inly bury one of the brothers, Antigone says that she buried him because it was god’s wish, and because it was Antigone’s brother and she could do anything she wanted to with his body.

Antigone was right in burying her brother because Creon did not have the right to decide which brother get a proper burial and which one does not. Creon chose his favorite one of the brothers to bury and left the other one exposed to the elements. If Antigone would have had to make the decision she would have buried both of her brothers, that is why it was right of her to bury her brother. Creon was also not blood related to the brothers so he should not have had the last say on who gets buried and who did not. Antigone was right in burying her brother because Creon did not have the right to decide, she was also right because, she said it was gods wish to have both of them buried

Antigone buried her brother because she said she was following that God would have wanted for her brother. Antigone says to Creon, “Your edit, King, was strong. But all your strength is weakness itself against the immortal unrecorded laws of God.” She is telling him that even though he may be strong he is no match for Gods will. Antigone said that Creon was defying what God wanted and that is one of the reasons that she defied Creon.
