Various Non-Western Cultures

In this class we study various non-western cultures. Thanks to technology and other resources that are at your fingertips, you have the means to research and explore any culture in the world and share that information with others.

Task: Imagine that you are tour guide who will be taking your peers on a journey through a country and its culture. As a tour guide you will be responsible for scheduling the flights, calculating the finances of the trip, and planning an itinerary that entails activities that are both exciting, as well as historically and culturally rich. All in all, you want to take your peers on a trip will provide a cultural, historical, and contemporary representation of that culture and the people of your country in a manner that sparks interest and intrigue.

The country that you will be researching will not be one that we will discuss in this class. Keeping that in mind, you will be become an expert on the country and your peers will be relying on you to provide them with an accurate representation of what it would be like to visit that country. After your research and planning is complete, you will compile your information into two visual of your choice that will be displayed throughout the room.

You will be given the opportunity to either work individually or with a partner. With that said, keep in mind that if you choose to do the project in a pair you will have more requirements to fulfill and the expectations will be higher. Just as importantly, choose your partner wisely. Since you are allowed to pick your partner the responsibility is on you!!
