However, the influences on children of divorce are different in different countries due to social context. Take America and China for example. Compared to China, divorce is more common in the USA, so most of people could have a right view on children of divorce and treat them normally. But these children may be discriminated by others in China so that divorce would have a bigger influence on Chinese children. They may be more lonely and self-abased than American children of divorce.

As we all know, China has implement once child policy for years. Every child could the full attention and love from his or her family and because of this, they would be more reliable on parents. Once their parents get divorced, they would experience great change of lives and feel that all their lives have been destroyed. They would become pessimistic and lack sense of safety. However, American children are totally different. They grow up with brothers and sisters and have been used to care about themselves. They are more independent, so parents’ divorce won’t affect their lives greatly.

What’s more, many Chinese parents will choose to use money to remedy the hurt their divorce brings to children. If there is no one to teach the child how to manage the money, most of the children will develop the habit of overspending, but American parents always think that pocket money should earn by children themselves, so they would not have such problem.

We need to admit that divorced parents would get remarried one day and different remarried family relationship will have different influence on children. Just as what the 8th slide mentioned, divorce is not very acceptable in China, not to mention children of divorce. Hence some parents choose to leave their children in grandparents home in order to get remarried. These children are easier to form antisocial personality because of lacking love and care.
