Freedom of Mind

In any court, there are two lawyers; one defends the right, and the second on falsehood and both used the mind! It is repulsive to say the mind always follows, is it possible that the mind always remained a follower of another side? What is that side?

“Nobody has ever been prevented from thinking whatever he liked. It would be difficult unless we had machines for detecting the thoughts in other people’s brains” (Valery, Jan. 1958). But, mind like a language, a skill that a human learned.  A language follows its speaker, in its words, the language is possible to carry knowledge or ignorance; it may defend oppressed people in the world, or it is killing strictly innocent people. Similarly, the mind can be used to do right or wickedness, and this depends on how that mind develops. Scientists who study the mind are trying to understand the differences among minds of people, and how these differences come. Psychologists classify the human mind to types (daymark, Jun 2010); every type depends on the approaches that used to develop the mind. For that freedom of the mind is coming from the freedom of that approach because the mind is a skill and its type depends on the training that been used to build and develop this skill. This article will define types of the approaches with direct examples and will show which of approaches will guide to the freedom of mind.

“ In his Meditations on First Philosophy (1641), Descartes indicates how we are able to guarantee our beliefs about reality by limiting what we believe to what is indubitable or is based on what is indubitable.“ (Daniel).  We can consider the doubt as a hypothesis of research, i.e., a theory that unproven scientifically, such as the theory of Darwin in the emergence of creation. Or it is in the process of validating, such as the hypothesis of the presence of creatures on other planets. Or it was a hypothesis but has been confirmed, such as a supposition of the presence of water on Mars. There are minds follow and believe in the two negative types, i.e. before the hypothesis becomes real.

Approaches to the culture of ancestors where the mind follows what inherited from predecessors. “ Most of the words and visual images, for instance, that sound and show themselves in our heads, have not been created by the particular mind that happens to experience them at any given moment. No, they have been created by other minds, in some cases minds that are contemporary with the experiencing mind, but in an overwhelming majority of cases minds that had existed generations, often multiple generations before the experiencing mind” (Greenfeld, Jun 2013). Culture inheritance effected in the development of minds in two ways. Negative, where mind repeats and follows what ancestors said, wrote and did; this method does not consider a scientific review of the validity of what previous generations performed, also, it is uncritically in the test of the legacy; to keep its right and correct its mistake. In contrast, positive, where mind follows what are true only, and what proved experimentally that wholesome.
