Abstract

The Bell Jar it is only novel by the American poet and writer Sylvia Plath. The novel first published in England under the pseudonym Victoria Lucas in 1963, then in the USA in 1971.

This study is conducted to investigate the feminism, and parallels between the writer Sylvia Plath and the major character Esther Greenwood, and the man domination in the America in 1950s by using text analysis from feminism prospective.

ملخص

(The Bell Jar) أو الناقوس الزجاجي هي العمل الروائي الوحيد للشاعرة الأمريكية سيلفيا بلاث. صدرت الرواية أولاً في بريطانيا في العام 1963 تحت الاسم المستعار فكتوريا لوكاس، ثم في أمريكا في العام 1971 لتحمل هذه المرة اسم سلفيا بلاث. في هذه الرواية تأخذنا سلفيا بلاث في رحلة إلى العام 1950 حيث نلتقي بالبطلة والراوي ايسر جرينوود ونستكشف من خلالها المجتمع الأمريكي في فترة الخمسينيات ونظرته للمراة عموماً والصعوبات التي واجهت ذوات الميول الأدبية خاصة.

تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى استكشاف أوجه الشبه بين الكاتبة والشخصية المحورية في الرواية والتحقق من بعض القضايا المتعلقه بالمرأة والتي تمت معالجتها في الرواية، ذلك من خلال قراءة متمعنة للرواية لتحليلها من وجهة نظر النقد النسوي الأدبي.
