It was a regular Tuesday in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico. I was preparing myself to go to school at 6:00 AM. Outside, I could feel how the heat was raising up from the pavement. Usually, my mother is the one who always take me to school and home. However, something was not in its place that day. My father had volunteer himself to take me to school that morning. I did not mind it, but in that moment, I knew something was about to happen. Something that would be tattooed in my memory. How I was sure about that? Due to the chills that I felt when arriving school.

As my father and I, were on our way to school, for some reason, my father just started talking about all the problems that were going on in Mexico at that time. I was only 15 years-old. I did not care about national news, nor even local events. Furthermore, my father kept talking about it. I was just going on with the flow of our conversation. We got to school, before I could get out of the car, my father hold me from the left arm and told me something that even today I have not forgotten. The smell of a good soccer game done by teenangers. And at least but not less important, that taste of cheap cologne in the entire classroom. I thought, “here we go, another boring day in school. Nothing interesting happens ever in this old school.” The time passed, period by period, until I got to my fifth period. The class began just as normal. The teacher was teaching the lecture while I was lost in my day-dreaming. Finally, fifth period finished. I walked out of the classroom. My favorite part of school had arrived, recess. There was one thing that I noticed different that day. It was not a usual recess, no one was horsing around, talking about “chismes”. Everyone was on their phones talking to their parents. About what? I had not any idea.

As the recess was winding the mood started changing. The environment felt like a bag full of potatoes, but not the little ones, the big potatoes from the grocery store. Tension was in the air, students were trying to get to their homes. Parents were trying to pick up their children. All my friends were gone. Suddenly, something made everyone to be in shock. Mens with masks and black clothes began to enter the school. Everybody was running, students, parents, even the strange guys in black; every single person in that place was panicking about the situation. The first thing that came to my head was that I should take action or something bad might
