Best Ways To Massage Hair For Stronger, Longer And Healthier Hair

The cleanliness and grooming of hair is also very important just like your skin. Although the whole body is covered with hair but the head has long and dense hair. There are pores present in the scalp from which the waste material comes out while sweating and makes the hair look dirty. To make hair shinny and healthier a proper massage regimen is required.

What is a Scalp Massage exactly?

A scalp massage is massage done to promote blood circulation as well as for relaxation of mind. A scalp massages can be very much helpful as it reduces the stress level and pain in head and neck and along with it proving beneficial for hair growth. Massaging of hot oil all over the scalp which helps in relaxing crowded muscles in the neck regions and as results of which you feel relaxed along with it making  your scalp healthier.

Massaging increases blood flow to the massaged area. Similarly, scalp massages are utmost important for hair growth as it increases the blood circulation of the scalp which in result encourage hair growth because blood carries most of the nutrients protein, iron, selenium, ,vitamin C, biotin  which makes your hair look healthier and shinny.

Massage your scalp at any instance of time such as:

  • When you shampoo and condition your hair
  • In the evening or before you go to bed
  • In the morning before you style your tresses.

What are the steps involved in massaging?

Performing hair massage frequently on the scalp helps your hair look shinny and healthier . The steps involved in this process are:

  • Wash and rinse your hair thoroughly

You can consider a wet or dry hair scalp for massaging, but for better results hair should be clean and free from dirt and other impurities. For removing the dirt from hair washing of scalp with shampoo is required. Vinegar can also be used for rinsing your hair. As you put shampoo on your hair and start massaging gently with your fingertips. Moving your fingertips in circular manner all over the scalp helps removing dirt and also help to stimulate blood flow which can help your curls grow much faster.

  • Use of Proper brushing technique
    Your scalp needs daily massage to allow your proper blood circulation on this area. The best way for blood circulation is by brushing your hair for at least two minutes every morning and evening, and the brushing technique should be not too harsh for the hair and the brush you use should be gentle on your scalp. However, avoid brushing your hair when it is still wet as this can cause the strands to break easily.

  • Use warm oil to massage your scalp
    All you need is to heat up a bit of oil such as linen oil, coconut oil or olive oil. The one with oily scalps should use other products instead of using essential oils. Some of the conditioners have mint or similar elements in them and because of the soothing properties of these elements there will be a more relaxing experience which in turn relieve stress levels. Only you need to do is warm it a bit instead of boiling it. Then, massage the warm oil on your scalp and roots of your hair in a circular manner.

So, how to Massage Then?

There is no particular technique to apply oil. All you need to do is dip the fingers in the oil. Then apply oil to the scalp making the partitions in the hair. After that spread your fingers on the scalp and gently start rotating in a circular motion. Fingernails are harmful for the scalp so avoid using fingernails. Never just pour oil on the head and at it should be kept in mind that always use oil in adequate quantity only as using too much oil makes your scalp too oily and for removing this much of oil more shampoo is is required which is again harmful for your scalp. Massage the scalp with your fingertips in a circular manner helps for at least five minutes or longer if preferred. After that wrap a hot and wet towel around the hair for more than 5 minutes to get the oil absorbed in the scalp. But the temperature of the towel should not be too high as too much heat is harmful to your hair.
