Balancing Ecosystems

To the City of Glimmerville,

As some of you may be aware, here in Sparksville, we have been experiencing an ongoing issue with Grass Carp and the effects it is having on our local ecosystem. We are writing to inform you of our research and findings to provide you with a detailed preparation in order for you to resolve these similar issues if they were to occur.

As we know, a balanced ecosystem consists of when both living and non-living things are in equilibrium and there is no interruption to their cycles. As everyone must do their part to help the ecosystem, decision often have to be made to obtain better control of difficult situations.

Our Grass carp problem revolves around the fact that they are killing off our native fish, which are heavily fished for by our locals. The issue generated when Grass Carp were introduced to our waters to help reduce certain plant life, which has increased due to fertilizer run-offs and is making habitat survival severely difficult.

Grass Carp, when used, need to be placed in a secure location as where they do not have access to other waterways. These fish whether it be human error or on their own are finding ways to get into different areas such as lakes and streams. Third, there would inevitably be interruption to our local ecosystem and finally, there would be negatives involved in regards to the social factors.

Both Grass Carp and the native fish impact the natural balance however, Grass Carp or any invasive fish increase the disruption, which causes for a larger change in our ecosystem. The ability to reduce the Grass Carp gets increasingly more difficult over time as they are continuing to repopulate the waters. While continuing to populate, they create a lot more risks to the environment. We have established our
