CHAPTER I

Fated Encounter?

“Sometimes I just wish I’d disintegrate. Vanish into thin air. Disappear without a trace. It’s not like my existence is so valuable that it makes such a drastic change in this fragile cycle called life. I seek the end of me but if I try to take my own life I’d be labeled as a freak and my family will be condemned as well. Why can’t I just hurry up and die already? I mean it doesn’t really matter if I was here.

#help

#takeMeAway”

Ever since posting that status people have been talking about me lately. I’m not sure if they pity me for not being happy with my existence or what. I once heard someone saying she’s a bit shocked because she didn’t think I’d be studying in the same school as them. Well it wouldn’t surprise me. In a Catholic school where students are being taught the beauty and value of life, having a student who somewhat doesn’t care of his life is pretty much a scandalous. I have noticed that when some of my classmates talk about me they keep their voices down, as though they don’t want me to hear anything they say. I wonder if they’re doing it on purpose or if they’re just too dumb to notice that we’re only a seat apart.

Rey: Alex! Over here!

Alex: Oh Rey, what’s up?

Rey Mendoza, captain of the Basketball team. He’s a good friend I met during a ball game. I was told to pass on a love letter to him by someone I never met before. I wanted to decline but the girl looked so helpless as she handed the letter face down due to the fact that she was already blushing as she asked me for the favor. Since I’m not pretty good at handling people I couldn’t turn her down, I ended up accepting the job though it was pretty weird. It was one horrible task, some if his teammates thought I was gay. Anyways the misunderstanding was eventually cleared up. Ever since that day Rey and I have become friends.

Rey: Hey what’re you spacing out for?

Alex: Oh sorry I was just thinking about something. I got to go Rey I still have somewhere I need to be.

Rey: Sure thing. See you later.

Alex: Later man.

As he went away his friend paved him goodbye. Alex has made yet another lie just to be alone. It’s not like he doesn’t like being accompanied by Rey. He just prefers being by himself ‘cause He can think better that way. Introvert nature. He went to the canteen to order something to eat and pretend to read a book to pass his time.
