Tesla: A Business of Innovation and Creativity

Abstract

Tesla’s business focuses on innovation, creativity and bringing the consumers products that are superior to their expectations and demands in an environmentally friendly manner. To remain innovative Tesla, like all businesses develops the ability of dealing with obstacles and market challenges to create products that advance society and lead in inspirational creativity. Tesla uses the ability to control supply chain management (SCM) decisions and internal challenges through Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) to control costs and keep production managed. While addressing the challenges that Tesla faces as an innovative and green company and focusing on their industry defining strategies we will see how Tesla continually develops superior products through their ingenuity and resourcefulness. Using SWOT analysis we will discern the internal and external challenges that Tesla is confronted with.

Background of Tesla

            Consumers are quickly becoming more aware of and demanding that the businesses they patronage develop products that are environmentally friendly and recyclable. Most concerned by this will search out businesses that provide products meeting this description. Companies are taking advantage of governmental rewards and tax credits to align their businesses with this market trend and capitalize in strategically cost effective ways. Tesla is an industry leader and is able to focus its innovation and creativity into bringing the consumers green products that epitomize an environmentally friendly business model.

            Tesla is confronted with many obstacles that range from the government challenging their direct sales model of the automobile line to the development of a battery that charges through solar power and provides energy to houses. These products are what establish Tesla as the energy conservation definition. The management within Tesla Corporation is trained to think and direct their business in an ecological manner. All products in the supply chain focus on conserving resources and creating products that allow customers to save money after the initial investment. The challenges that Tesla faces are not limited to external sources but also come from the issue that the product does not exist. Tesla is a leader by innovating thoughts and turning into reality. While addressing the challenges that Tesla faces and focusing on their innovative nature both in overcoming these obstacles and their ability to adapt using ERP and SCM systems will show Tesla’s ingenuity and resourcefulness.
