Overview

The following report was developed to provide data analysis on key drivers impacting Superior Hearing’s Cincinnati locations such as sales by location, sales by time of day, referrals, and other influences such as advertising and patient demographics. While Superior Hearing has multiple locations in Cincinnati and seven other cities in the mid-west, the data analyzed is focused solely on their six Cincinnati locations.

The analyzed sample for Superior Hearing consists of 440 individual patients with appointments dated 1/7/19 to 2/1/19. The patient age ranges from a minimum of 43 years old to a maximum of 93 years old. Given this is a data sample representing a short time frame, we recommend reviewing additional data samples during other time periods to see if results are similar or if the data is impacted by seasonality.

Sales by Location

Superior’s “North” location is the top performing location by sales dollar providing $328,675 or 23% of total sales, followed by the “West” generating $303,800 (21%); the “Northeast” location makes up only $87,300 in sales for the month, representing only 6% of total sales for Cincinnati. Figure 1.

Both “North” (top performer) and “Northeast” (lowest performer) are staffed by Provider C. Figure 2. Differences in performance can be tied to number of scheduled and walk-in appointments at “North” versus “Northeast” Figure 3.

Appointments by Locations[pic 11]

Superior’s “North” location dominates most appointments per locations with 122 out of 128 appointments scheduled or walk-in and only 5% that were “Open” with no clients being seen.

“Northeast” had the fewest combined appointments totaling 28 total appointments with clients and 4 “Open” or 13% of their total appointment times with no clients being seen. Figure 3. To increase traffic, target under-performing areas (Northeast, Southeast) with radio and television ads by using demographics comprised of females between the ages 51-80 years old and are on Medicare or Medicaid (Government).[pic 12]

Sales by Appointment Time

The majority of Superior’s sales are generated from appointments at the 2:00pm timeslot totaling $52,400 in sales or 15.94%, and 1:00pm totaling $51,950 or 15.81%. Individuals with scheduled appointments frequently result in top sales per timeslot, however 8:00 and 10:00am have higher sales dollars with walk-ins.  Recommendations for improvement: adjust the staffing schedule using “Appointments By Location” and “Sales By Appointment Time” to more adequately meet the needs of these locations.
