a. Problem Statement:

To develop an online waste management system to facilitate easy disposal of waste products and optimize the material flow chain of these products.

Challenges of Waste Management:

The challenges of waste management can be classified as lack of appropriate infrastructure, legislation and framework for end-of-life products. The following describe the implementation challenges for better Waste management in India-

Due to diversion of large chunk of wastes from retail consumers to informal recyclers and demand-supply mismatch organised recyclers are not getting adequate wastes to recycle in an easy way.

b. Analysis of existing solution:

Existing Scenario in INDIA:

In India, for the collection of solid waste the community bin collection system is mainly used. In this system, residents deposit their waste into the nearest community bins located at street corners. Waste segregation is almost zero at this point. Segregation of the waste into wet and solid waste is done at some cities by placing 2 separate bins for solid and wet waste. Various types of community bins, such as RCC bins, masonry bins, metallic containers, and plastic containers, are used in India.

In many cities home to home waste collection is also becoming very common. In those cities that use house-to-house collection, handcarts and tricycles are used for waste collection from individual houses at a specific time in the morning, when residents deposit the stored waste into the handcarts.
