Potential Competitors (Primary and Secondary)

Singapore, one of the most developed cities in Asia, is the perfect location for companies to base their businesses especially in aesthetics industry (Prive Clinic, 2013). In present, there are more than 20 global beauty companies located in Singapore; one of these companies is ClearSKTM (Singapore Economic Development Board, 2009). Thus, ClearSKTM needs to identify their potential competitors and their strategy in these intense competitions in order to minimize the chance of being blindsided and offer differentiated services in the market (Bergen & Peteraf, 2002).

Primary Competitors

Primary competitors are those who offer identical services or products to the same target market as ClearSk does which are Prive Clinic and Dermacare (Bergen & Peteraf, 2002). Prive Clinic becomes most trusted aesthetic brand in Singapore as offering facetheraphy, faceworks and bodyworks. They have won Singapore Excellence Award in 2013, this was achieved as Prive Clinic commits to long term innovation and focus on safety in their products and treatments (PriveClinic, 2013). Prive Clinic continues to expand their target market by introducing the 2D1N Aesthetics Package to their overseas customers (Prive Clinic, 2013). Next, Dermacare is backed by an expert medical team of the best aesthetic doctors in the businesses and one of the most luxurious aesthetic clinics and offers first-class service with high-tech and where you will be pampered once you step into the private lounge (Best of Singapore, 2013). Dermacare launched their second clinic at Vivo City as a result of growing demand on Dermacare’s the first clinic in ION Orchard (Dermacare, 2014)
