Purchase of chairs for the different areas in office.

Hello Mallory, I’d like to thank you for choosing me to purchase chairs for ITS. I have done my research to find out all potential risk associated with this purchase. I have listed them in the table below with probability level and consequences.

Seats break in short period of time.

Delivery doesn’t come on time. Dealer won’t do business with us in future.

 

However, these risks can be mitigated by using techniques below.

  1. Unmatched Color – We can provide complete requirement list for this purchase to dealer with all specific details of each office and hall. According to it, they can provide us right color for chairs.
  2. Smaller than Size – Again mitigation technique will be same as previous one. We will have to decide right size for all of our employees and general sized chairs for reception area. Then we will provide details for size of chairs to dealer.
  3. Uncomfortable Chairs – This risk has highest priority to be supervised. 50 office chairs and 20 meeting chairs will be adjustable and will have cushion with it. Reception area chairs can be general purpose type of chairs. We can give these details to dealer.
  4. Low quality -  we can decide the chairs from list provided by the dealer. We can make contract for return policy to dealer about quality of chair.
  5. Deal Goes wrong – On time payment, delivery on time, right quantity and quality of chair can mitigate the problems in contract.

We will make a contract which will contain solution to all of this problem, will have return-policy in case of defective delivery. For this contract, I believe, Firm Fixed type of contract will be most suitable. Number of chairs and type of chairs are fixed. We can easily estimate the final price of purchase by adding the total chairs price plus the delivery charge. So fair and reasonable price can be estimated.
