RESEARCH (Slides 2-3)

  • In slides 2-3, Research is defined with the use of different sources such as Webster and Oxford Dictionary, and the other is according to Aguinaldo/Calderon. Each definition has the same thought or meaning, that research is the systematic and objective analysis and recording of controlled observations that may lead to the development of generalizations, principles, or theories, resulting in prediction and possible control of events.

Example:

Most of the scientists are conducting research to gather information in a certain thing or events that occur through periods of time. They keep and study the information to formulate studies and theories that may lead into discovery of something new or rare phenomena.

BUSINESS RESEARCH (Slide 4)

  • As Aguinaldo/Calderon defined research, that it is a purposive, systematic and scientific process of gathering, classifying, organizing, presenting, analyzing and interpreting data for the solution of a problem, for prediction, for invention, for the discovery of truth or for the expansion or verification of existing knowledge, all for the preservation and improvement of the quality of life. We can also conduct a research for our business, thus Business Research, in which we study and gather ideas that can help our business to be successful.  Conducting a business research will give businessmen lots of ideas on how their product/services will standout and be different to their competitors. It is also important so that problems can be solved through researching.

Example:

Ted wants to create a pandesal that is different to the normal one and planning to sell it to the public. He then gathers information and ideas through research on how he can make that pandesal a special and different one. He finds out that Malunggay have health benefits. Then it comes to his mind if he can create a pandesal made out of Malunggay. He continues his research and by the time he created Malunggay Pandesal, he then conducts a research on how that product can be part of his business and how it can be sold. Business research is done.
