The Future Of Work.

The future is now is something that is often heard and it cannot be any truer in the business world to me. Technology is the absolute catalyst to the kind of society that we live in today where it is obvious that we work in an entirely different world than our parents or their parents ever could. Technology is at the forefront of the economy, an economy that cherishes productivity and efficiency above all else.  The role of technology is to make tasks easier so that we can complete more tasks in the same amount of time that we are used to working (typically between the hours of 9-5).  Furthermore, the advancements of technology have also eradicated the typical 9-5 as now work is being done around the clock through globalization, which was unheard of for the Baby Boomer generation and the concept is only going to be more prevalent for our children and the generations to come. Technology now allows us to collaborate with anyone in the world through video conferencing, which makes everything more fluent and allows for greater profits due to outsourcing certain jobs and being able to manage the products from any corner of the world. My view of technology’s role in business is the same as it is today, we have built all this new technology for us to be more efficient people, we need to make money around the clock and the technology in place now is designed to do exactly that. When I think about uncertainty I can’t help but be relieved because like the video stated, we can be certain of many things, there is no way that the technology we have built for business today will ever revert into something less useful, so when planning for the future, I can always expect that our technology will only improve to help us conduct better and more profitable business.
