The Doctor of Nursing Degree is intended for the nurses who are looking for a terminal degree regarding the practice of nursing, as well as gives an alternative for the doctoral programs focused on research. According to American Association of Colleges of Nursing (2006), the scientific underpinnings of this education show the practice complexity at the level of doctorate, as well as the rich traditions that is theoretical nursing foundation. These scientific foundations are obtained from the usual, as well as the social sciences and may comprise psychology, the human biology, as well as physiology. In addition, these foundations comprise the science of nursing, which encompasses the nursing discipline. This first essential gives the scientific basis required for the advanced nursing practice (Zaccagnini & White, 2014).

Essential II: Organizational and System guidance regarding the Improvement of Quality, as well as System Thinking

American Association of Colleges of Nursing (2006) says that the preparation regarding the organizational, as well as the system management that impacts the successive outcomes of the patient care and the healthcare delivery. In this area, a preparation gives the graduate of Doctor of Nursing Degree with the skills in the organizational evaluation, identification of the issues of the systems, as well as the enhancement of the organization-broad alterations in the delivery of practice. The graduate of Doctor of Nursing Degree is prepared to undertake the leadership responsibilities at every level, from the informal management in the clinical surroundings to more formal leadership at an administrative level.
