In the book "Of Mice and Men", Steinbeck shows how friendship needs friends looking out for one another. The friendship Lennie and George had is incomparable to any other friendship.They were two very different people brought together by fate. Not only were they different people but they were best friends that were in-separatable. Until one day where George decides to do what is best for there friendship. These are few of many example of how these two are best friends. The importance of the friendship between these two is a huge part in this book.

George and Lennie had a special bond between them that was like no other. They were brought together by Lennie's stupidity. Although Throughout the story you see this bond become stronger and stronger. George is an intelligent hard worker, and Lennie is a big strong man that is partially slow, but somehow these two manage to be best friends. Lennie relies on what George tells him to do while George relies on Lennie's strength to protect him. These two best friends even shared the same dream of owning their own piece of land. These two were a perfect fit for each other without them even realizing it.

The way these two were brought together made them closer. Lennie had gotten them both kicked out of weed, and this led to George feeling bad for Lennie. George was constantly watching out for Lennie. He had to haves eyes on Lennie at all times so Lennie didn't do anything stupid. Without George's help Lennie wouldn't know what to do with his life. This is what made the two closer every day, until the point where they were best friends. This is how they became friends throughout the good times and the bad times.

Towards the end of the book George does what is best for their friendship. Lennie had gotten so bad to where he had killed two animals and one woman in a span of a couple days. George saw this and knew that he could not let Lennie keep doing this. This eventually
