Describe the functional model adopted by Accenture?

The new functional model is based on an innovative approach as compared to the traditional model. In traditional model the whole process was being done by a team of executives who used to perform all the aspects of recruitment from start to end.

The functional recruitment process was divided into 4 strategic components:

Candidate sourcing: In this the main work of sourcing was done by the HR professionals. Screening was then done based the resumes gathered.

As Accenture mainly used this process to hire IT professionals, the sources of recruitment were colleges, web portals, job-fairs and internet based job portals.

Main activities include:

• Mapping Business Demand To Marketing Intelligence

• Creating A Market Plan To Meet this Demand

• Managing Various Recruitment Channels To Optimize Supply Of Resumes

• Conducting Initial Screening & Verification

Candidate management: In this process the next team of HR professionals organised further process of selection on the potential candidates who have passed the initial screening.

The main functions in this step are administering level-appropriate test to candidates and functional and HR interviews. Highly standardized processes are used which resulted in delivering timely and quality results.

On boarding: In this the HR time and line members are required to remain in touch with the hired candidate and keep them engaged with the company. This process aims to maintain the yield ratio which is disturbed when candidates switch to the competitors in lieu of high packages or other benefits.

CAPABILITIES: It is most important function which results in proper execution of all other 3 steps, it focuses on metrics, processes, compliance and training. It applied technology to the recruitment process and innovate process improvements. Looking At Various Aspects of Recruitment it metrices such as:

• Demand Fulfillment -Number of Times Team Was Successfully able to Hire

• Quality Of Hire -Capabilities Of the New Recruit

• Cost Per Joiner -Total Recruitment Cost To Candidates Recruited

• Delivery Cycle Time -Time between Hire Request & On boarding

• Monthly Joiners per Recruiter -Joiners per Recruit
