  1. What motivates this person to move forward in spite of his disability?

“You keep on concentrating with the things you wish you have and the things you wish you didn’t have, and you suddenly forget what you do have.” – Nick Vujicic

It’s so easy to just give up. When you can’t get something what you want, when you can’t do something in your life, sometimes you even do so many things but nothing really makes sense. Its all draining us up and end up to this conclusion: Life is not worth living. Living a life that offers you so many things to desire, and then hinder you to get it? It’s inevitable to rise up excuses and to throw the blame to people, to the world and to God. But that is a real coward thing to do. Because, the reality is; the only person that can limit you is yourself.

Let’s just look at this person who can have a reason not to continue life anymore, Nick Vujicic. No arms and legs? What can you do? You can’t even hold a spoon to feed yourself. You can’t even take few steps to get something. He can just let his self sit in their house and accept mercy to people and do nothing. But he never had an excuse. He didn’t accept his acceptable excuse but rather defy it. And look, he didn’t just survive life even without limbs; he is now going places to inspire people with his story, people who’s supposed to be achieving greater things than him but locked up with limitations.

And so I realize, it is not our incapability that stops us to be who we are supposed to be, but the deception that our mind does to our soul. It enslaves us to the thought that we lack of something, and we cannot function anything at all. But the fact is, life is not about what we cannot do, it’s about what we can do. Normal people do have two arms and legs, but most of us do not have courage and faith in ourselves that we worth of something, which is the thing that Nick has. The battle is all in the mind. As Richard Bach, an author once said; “Break the chains of your thought and you’ll break the chains of your body.” The fact Nick can still do something, convinced him to do something. Because he never let his mind stop him, nothing can stop him to get the best out of life now. He’s even better than any other guys. Having a beautiful wife and a good family? That’s something that people with limbs struggles with. He proved to the world nothing you don’t have can stop you to have what you should have. You CAN be something, if you believe that YOU ARE somebody.
