Since the beginning of American life there has always been an under class. First it was the slaves, than it was the freed slaves and right long side them were the woman of this country. Now the only thing that has set woman aside from men has been the egos of men. Those egos were about to get the shock of a life time. The Women’s Suffrage Movement was something that needed and did happen in this country at make it the way it is today. These are the reason why and how this Movement came about and became a success.

A women’s basic life before the Suffrage Movement was: staying home seven days a week, watching, caring for the children, cleaning and cooking meals. However, if a woman was hired at a job they would receive little to no pay at all. These injustices could not even be fixed because women did not have the right to vote to elect leaders that would change it. Women were not represented, not heard and most of all not respected but that was all going to change.

Getting the Movement started was extremely hard because women never “fought” for anything before. They didn’t fight in wars or run businesses so they were pretty much in the dark as to how to get this Movement started. The first thing that was laid down was what they wanted and what they needed. First on the list and most importantly was equality in the work place and in the voter’s booth. With their platform down they needed people to step up to the challenge and lead the movement.

The suffrage movement was progressing movement that took many years and had many key leaders. One of those leaders was Susan B. Anthony who was the first women to cast a vote in a presidential election. This was for the most part the beginning of the women’s suffrage movement. Ms. Anthony started this movement by herself but later
