Corruption in the Police department is known as the illegal use of legitimate authority. Any behavior that crosses the line of one’s power can be classified as corruption. Corruption applied to the police departments can be known as, robbing drug dealers, putting evidence that should be controlled by the department like money into your own account. Perjuring yourself in order to save another corrupt cop, falsifying police reports, or framing law abiding citizens with drugs or a crime.

Police brutality is another major issue that the US is dealing with. It seems that the amount of officers over exerting their badge in order to get the outcome they want is getting larger and larger. These six officers were arrested on a range of charges, including conspiracy, robbery, extortion, kidnapping and drug dealing. This case was built for over 6 years and it is estimated they pocketed 500,000 in drugs, cash and personal property over the time. All of these police officers were pulled off the streets and are being investigated still. One officer has pled guilty and now faces up to 10 years in prison.

Alonzo is now filing a federal lawsuit after having his rights stripped from him and having been falsely accused of doing something wrong.
