By geometry of pipe another type of cementing is liner cementing.

Liner running list consists of float shoe, float collar, liner strings, liner hanger, drill strings and cement head. We utilized Halliburton tools on 16" liner.

Cement equipment. Cement equipment was composed of Halliburton SSR plug system, and cement head. SSR plug system (on the figure in right hand side) consist two wiper plugs connected to the body via shear pins and sits under liner hanger setting tool. These pins are sheared by dropping ball and dart and applying pressure through cement head.

There was SSR Equalizer Isolator Assembly above plug system. There are ports – a kind of check valves allowing fluid flow from annulus to tool string and preventing opposite flow. Function of these equalizer ports (3 on figure on left hand side) is to avoid unplanned release of plugs because of pressure accumulated on them for some reason. SSR Isolator packer cup (1) isolates hanger setting tool from SSR plug system. Equalizer swivel above packer cup is for preventing pressure trapping as the cone of hanger moving down expanding hanger.

Halliburton cement head has simple structure consisting of dart and ball releasing mechanisms (valves).

Versaflex hanger system. Halliburton Versaflex liner hanger system is composed of hanger body with firm elastomeric layer on it. It does not have any slips, so expanded hanger is able to withstand all weight of liner. Expansion is accomplished by dropping a ball and diverting pressure to the piston via inner sleeve movement.

Piston is connected to the inner cone that expands hanger body by moving down. Once cone reaches to the last element of hanger body (6500 psi was observed) by-pass sleeve is shifted allowing fluid flow to the annulus and showing positive indication of hanger expansion. Hanger set should be confirmed with overpull test. Then
