The dinosaur exhibit of the Dinosaur Hall contained approximately three hundred real fossils along with myriads of dinosaurs and pre-historic sea creatures. Among some astonishing displays I was amazed to see the projection of three Tyrannosauruses surrounding the remnants of a duck-billed dinosaur Edmontosaurus. I was told that the Tyrannosauruses usually preyed on those duck-billed dinosaurs which were their favorite food item. What was most noteworthy in the depiction was the presence of Tyrannosauruses of different ages. I was informed that among the Tyrannosauruses one was a baby that was about two years old at the time of death. The other one was a juvenile which approximately died at the age of thirteen and the last one was a sub-adult. Tyrannosaurus was one of the largest predators of the pre-historic era. This species of dinosaur was characterized by thick and heavy skull and jaw which helped the Tyrannosaur to crush the bones of its preys. I learned from the exhibit that the strong thighs of these predators along with their long and powerful tails aided in their speedy movements. Besides, an adult Tyrannosaurus was able to eat up to more than four hundred pounds of meat in one bite. The conical teeth of these monstrous creatures pierced into the body of their prey, gripping and ripping away the flesh with the help of powerful neck muscles. The exhibit displayed a sixty eight foot long Mamenchisaurus which was originally found in China. This exhibit too was a thing to watch. I was told by a guide that Mamenchisaurus was such a species of dinosaur which was vegetarian. Plants were the chief food for these four legged dinosaurs. I was amazed to know that a Mamenchisaurus had the longest neck among pre-historic animals. The long neck of a Mamenchisaurus had up to nineteen vertebrae and the number did surpass the number of neck-bones of any other dinosaur species.
