1) Janet was not correct in the comments she made to the plant representatives. The corporate had to establish a standardized procurement and inventory control system across all of its plants. Janet’s fear is the scope creep. But scope creep cannot be avoided. Janet believes that upfront planning can avoid scoop creep. But even though the planning is done efficiently, scope can change due to various reasons. Some reasons are unavoidable. The plant representatives have to meet on their own and provide the corporation with a detailed requirement package. But this might take up a lot of time and project initiation can be delayed only because of this planning. Janet will not allow the project to officially begin without having a detailed listing of requirement. She is planning to have an enhancement project at the end, but this would also create resource wastage and money wastage. Enhancement projects will not be always successful. This can also lengthen the project schedule. Janet also doesn’t care about the opinions or comments of the other plant representatives and she didn’t study the problems that they will encounter while doing this.Requirement management plan should also include the changes which can be anticipated and requirements prioritization process.

2) I think Janet was correct in the comments she made to the IT team members.IT team members should understand the requirements of each team. So it is their responsibility to understand the requirements prepared by the plant representatives. They will make sure that they understand it because they have to sign a document stating that they have read over the requirements and fully understood them. But team members were not allowed to add anything additional requirements, so they were restricted in being experimental with the requirements. They will be scared that this would affect their performance review. The best change she made was the avoidance of back door politics.
